Cricket Australia have said that they are investigating an “incident” involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide. According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, Maxwell had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance on January 19 night after he fell and lost consciousness.
Maxwell, who wasn’t recently named in the ODI squad to face the West Indies, is understood to have been at a Six & Out concert on the night in question, the SMH report further said. Six & Out is a band consisting of former Australian pacer Brett Lee and others.
“Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information,” CA said in a statement.
“It is not related to him being replaced in the ODI squad, a decision that was made following the BBL and based on his individual management plan. Maxwell is expected to return for the T20 series.”
