Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith has been ruled out for Sunday’s regular-season finale against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
Smith suffered the injury in last week’s 35-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at home. The loss knocked the Eagles out of control for the NFC East crown, as they’ll now need a win and have the Washington Commanders (4-12) beat the Dallas Cowboys (11-5) to claim the division for a second straight year.
But with the No. 5 seed likely headed their way, it appears the Eagles are somewhat settling for a Wild Card road game instead of having Smith and a few other notable names suit up for Sunday.
Eagles cornerback Darius Slay (knee) has also been ruled out while running back D’Andre Swift (illness) has officially been listed as questionable. Win or lose, the Eagles will likely remain firmly in the No. 5 spot with a potential trip to Tampa Bay in sight.
