The results of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurt’s X-ray for his fractured right middle finger didn’t change his status for the team’s upcoming game in the Wild Card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hurts was one of several key Eagles to sustain concerning injuries during their Week 18 loss.
Per GH files, Hurts’ said Sunday night he was unsure when he could play for the Eagles again. Hurts played through a couple of series after he went to the medical tent for an evaluation of his middle finger that “popped out.” He was benched later in the game after being too ineffective to give the Eagles a chance of returning for a 24-0 deficit to the lackluster Giants.
The Philadelphia Eagles get Hurts’ X-ray results back
However, Hurts said following the game that he would be “day-to-day” with the injury. According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Hurts X-ray results showed no fracture in the middle finger.
While it’s positive for the Eagles that Hurts doesn’t have a fractured finger, it’s still unclear if Hurts can play on Monday night against the Buccaneers. The Browns offense will have Hurts, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith battling injuries this week.
Even if Brown and Smith can play, will the Eagles have a quality hand from hurts or backup quarterback Marcus Mariota to dish them the ball?
